Join us for a Teen Book Club in December!

 

Winter JAM, which was originally scheduled for Dec 3-5th is not going to take place this year due to COVID; however, Emily Stenberg, and Cindy Williams are hosting a book club for middle/high school students (6-12th grade) using the audible book by Molly Burke, It’s Not What It Looks Like. Molly is a motivational speaker, Youtuber, author, and commercial model who happens to be blind.

Please join us for our Teen ~ Middle/High School Virtual Program! This program will take place Nov. 15 - 19 (Sun – Thurs) remotely via Zoom, with live sessions happening Sunday from 7-8pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 2-4pm. Monday and Wednesday the attendees will work on a project or assignment as designated which will range anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. This program is intended for students currently in grades 6th /7th – 12th and will include lessons focusing on the Expanded Core Curriculum areas of Career Education and Self-Determination.


Elementary School Virtual Program – Amazing You!

This program will take place Oct. 11 - 15 (Sun – Thurs) remotely via Zoom, with live sessions happening Sunday from 6:30-7:30pm and Tuesday and Thursday from 2-4pm. Monday and Wednesday the attendees will work on a project or assignment as designated which will range anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour.

This program is intended for students currently in grades 1st – 5th and will include lessons focusing on the Expanded Core Curriculum area of Self-Determination.

NDVS/SB is sorry to announce that due to a low number of registrations we are postponing the The Family Weekend until this fall. Please watch for updates about the new dates.

What is Family Weekend?

This is an opportunity for families who have a child with vision loss (including those with additional disabilities) to listen to informational speakers, and to meet other families from across North Dakota and staff from North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind.
