NDVS/SB offers services for people of all ages experiencing vision loss, as well as their families. We also offer resources and information about vision loss to professionals and the general public. As our vision statement says, we strive to be leaders in the field of visual impairment, and we hope our services affirm that. Individuals with visual impairments experience varying degrees of need for professional services depending upon age, lifestyle, community characteristics and their own unique visual functioning.
BRAILLE ACCESS CENTER
A wide variety of print materials can be embossed in the raised-dot format used by braille readers. We are able to braille-transcribe various items. Click the link to view the possibilities.
In-Service Training / Presentations
We offer in-service training for teachers, paraprofessionals, parents, and others working with persons with visual impairments.
Golden Guides videos give you tips on living independently with low vision or blindness. Our teachers and staff will show you step-by-step how to navigate all areas of life, from the kitchen to the bus stop.
Providing North Dakota consumers who are blind or visually impaired faster access to accessibility items they may need for daily living.
Vision Resource Center
We serve patrons from ages birth through end of life; students, teachers, vision professionals, parents, and people with visual impairments or blindness are all encouraged to browse and utilize our materials.
Volunteers play an important role in the functioning of North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind.
