Vision consultants work to determine how a person functions visually in a given environment and give suggestions for improving visual skills. Using direct observation, direct contact, and information provided by the optometrist, the consultant provides the following information: the level of functional vision, adaptive materials or equipment that will be most effective, curriculum adaptations that will benefit the individual, and interventions based on the developmental sequence for visual skills.
