Welcome

Organizations exist for a reason; they serve a need. At North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind (NDVS/SB), we exist to fulfill many needs for people with a wide range of vision-related needs. Children who are low vision or blind learn best by using all of their senses. Our teachers know how to assess, teach, and provide specialized support to these students. In the same regard, our adult service staff provide encouragement, specialized training, and emotional support to empower those who experience blindness later in life.

North Dakota Vision Services/School for the Blind (NDVS/SB) provides statewide leadership, center based programming, and regionalized outreach services ensuring that the specialized needs of persons of all ages who are blind or visually impaired are met. NDVS/SB is a division of the Department of Public Instruction, Kirsten Baesler, State Superintendent, and is located in Grand Forks, with regional offices in Fargo, Jamestown, Rugby, Minot, Dickinson, and Bismarck.

NDVS/SB does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in employment or the provision of services.

Mission Statement

We are educators and advocates partnering with related agencies to provide individualized services and resources to infants, children, and adults with visual impairment to empower them in achieving their goals.
