Services for Adults

The Adult Center Based Adaptive Skills Training Program varies in length depending on the needs of the adult with a visual impairment.

Evaluation and training are offered at the School for the Blind in the following areas:

adaptive technology

college or job preparation

communication (Braille)

comprehensive vocational evaluation

daily living skills

functional vision evaluation

low vision training

orientation and mobility

personal adjustment to vision loss

recreation/leisure.

Evaluation and training for adults are provided on a fee for service basis.


Other services for adults

Many of our services are available at no charge to adults with a visual impairment through the Vision Resource Center. These include

Vision Resource Center - loan of materials

Talking Book Machine Lending Agency

Some services are provided at cost or for a nominal charge.
